2 weeks of London Charm

June 12 - What an awful way to start off a journey. It was all a little bit too foreign for me. There is just an air about the british. Instead of the plan for upgrading to business class, I was reassigned to the second last row. Was stepped on by the person in front of me and no apologies whatsoever. Feels like China. Longest line up to exit custom. I guess I just didn't know what to expect. The airport at Heathrow was sketchy to say the least. Pearson, NY, Maimi, Beijing can easily top it.

The wait for the taxi was also foreign. Instead of people offering you directions, I almost got into a black taxi instead of the official British black taxis. The ride was pretty fun, but contrast greatly with the Beijing cab drivers, it's just much harder to strike up a conversation here. I like how they designed the cab so it can seat 6 ppl. Greeted with the light drizzle I arrived safely in Lonon.

June 13 - First day of work. Found the directions and followed very closely. Then still got lost. Trying not to get killed became a realistic concern as I had to worry about Looking Right then Looking Left. With everyone trying to pass you on your right, I felt awkward. My office building here is nice and contemporary. But just a little bit empty. Everything is open concept with that intensity missing in the work atmosphere.

Richard was nice and showed me the places to eat during lunch. Met up with Jon and was introduced to some of the calypso brother team members. Gave out my chocolates and was well on my way.

Didn't really help Richard out that much today. There's very little you can do about it at this stage.
He's much younger than I expected.

So many TO LET signs. Slightly embarrassed by my odd thinking couple of years back. TOiLET, no?

Like the saying goes. You only live once! It's okay to not know. What have you got to lose. No one bloody knows who you are.
