Rain, Sun, Happy Father's Day

T'was an eventful, tiring, enlightening weekend.

The markets in London reminds me of China. Same feel, same crowd, same touristy feel to it. Why isn't there something similar in Canada?

Learn't that I can be a good navigator. Bought way too much things which I really hope can fit into my suitcase at the end of the day. From the tiny stores along the roads with no lighting. To the hundreds of vendor stands selling anything you can imagine. Fruits, Vegetables, Watches, Souvenirs, Maps, Antiques, Purses, Vintage Clothing, etc. Accompanied by the unpredicatble British weather. It was a smart idea to by an umbrella from the vendor. (macaroons, necklace, t-shirt, purse...just some of the goodies from portobello)

With the mob of people filling up the street, it was hard to feel lonely. Next came picadilly circuit. It was almost like the time square of NY. Greeted by the thunderous pouring apon arrival. After walking full circle outside the station exit, I finally found LilyWhites (bought some football related souvenirs). It was then off to Jermyn street to find Issac Newton's Apt. The buildings here in london are very charming. None taller than 6 floors usually. Something very different from the major metro cities of the world nowadays.

Then it was off to the Royal academy. I actually didn't manage to find the entrance..but wandered down an art exhibition street. It was shocking how much the paintings were selling for. £7000 for an impressionistic feel type of work by a 70ish something lady. How I wish that is the way to live.

Back to the mainroads where I went into london based Burberry. (Stores do not have that luxury feel to it if it's seen widely everywhere). When I saw it, I knew it was what I was looking for. Didn't even clinge my teeth and bought the item I wished for. Off to Hamsley's, the world's oldest toursist store. Magic tricks, Boomerang planes, magic balloons. Some pretty neat kids' wonderland.

By this point was way too tired and decided to head home for a rest. Ordered some take out and took a break. Then headed out to Harrod's, world's largest department store.

Only found myself on the 1st floor of the building and spend 2 hrs. The food, the variety, the purses, the perfumes. It was overwhelming.
