Jubilee Wknd

Millions pour out to support the queen's 60 year Jubilee celebration filling any available cracks on the banks of river Thames. Decked out in the red white blue union jack, I too joined in to see what all the fuss was about. The old and the young, the local and the tourists, the family and the couples all came out to show their support in typical British weather, RAIN.

Despite the crowds that day on the streets and underground, I must say it has been the friendliest I've seen the British behave, the older generation at least.

How fortunate to be here in 2012. To witness the 60 year Jubilee and the Olympics.

The past weekend I went exploring London by Bike. I was pleasantly surprised by how ordinary such global capital was. The down to earth neighbourhood around the winding canals, the buzzing Bangladesh Brick lane streets. It was so non-stereotypical London that I had a hard time recognizing it all.

Needless to say I was exhausted after the 7 hour bike ride with a new perspective on what this City is about. The Olympic park cannot be compared with Beijing as I do feel they are on complete different playing fields. I was not awed by the feeling of Olympic venues nor the atmosphere as everything seems very disorganized despite the games being a month away..
