Overwhelmed by everything...just a little bit.
Need to prioritize...just a little bit.
The things that I want to do != the things I can do.
China has been an unbelievable start.
Need to adjust to the new normal...just a little faster.
Need to prepare myself ... just a little more.
Need to breathe.
Things I like about BJ:
-There is more of EVERYTHING.
-Food here is cheap and delicious.
-Transportation is cheap.
-Lifestyle here is more exciting.
Things that are different in BJ:
-Limited hot water, so can only shower at certain times.
-The dorm beds are hard.
-Everyone bikes in the Tsinghua campus.
-It is very hard getting a taxi during rush hour.
-If you are sick and you go early and wait to see the doctor, you will be seen.
-People don't have time for "sorry"s.
-People don't have time to queue.
-Websites are blocked, but most people have vpn. Unblocked when Obama visited.
-The government made the sky blue for China's 60th National Day.
-It's okay to copy other people's ideas. ex. Finance group projects.
-Even nice places have very disgusting public bathrooms.
-Bring toilet paper with you, ALWAYS.
-People like to stare. There is no such thing as being self-conscious. 自我意识 is equivalent to the independent mentality in the west.
It can get lonely at times, especially at the beginning.
But every encounter is an opportunity for friendship.
